My name is Bernadette Barna Toth and I am a professional photographer in Portishead, Bristol specialised in Family photography.
My friends know me as an always smiling, really friendly person.
I’m a family girl, wife to a great man and a mum to a wonderful child who has been my inspiration over the last years, allowing me to combine the things I am most passionate about: children & family photography.
I have a deep love for art, nature, and all things beautiful. Aside from photography, I’m also into singing, songwriting, making jewellery, graphic design, and all sorts of creative projects.
My main goal in everything I do is to create something truly magical that brings joy and spreads positivity. In my personal life, I believe in living in the present moment with warmth, kindness, curiosity, and an open heart. With years of experience and a deep love for photography, I strive to create timeless images that you and your family will cherish forever.
How it all started….
Photography has been my passion for as long as I can remember. I have always loved looking at old pictures of my parents and my childhood. To me, photos tell a story that words alone cannot convey.
Photography is both my calling and my profession. I remember – I was 15 years old when I got my first camera for my birthday. I couldn’t put the camera down; I had to capture the beauty of nature through photos. It was then that I realized how beautiful life is and I wanted to preserve these moments for the future.In the beginning, I took macro photos and discovered the little species, after then I wanted to explore the whole world to make stunning photos for other people and about people.
I love photographing a wide range of subjects, including people, animals, flowers, landscapes, and events. Every magical moment is an opportunity for me to capture it through my lens. Regardless of the type of photo shoot, I aim to convey emotions and bring my pictures to life. For me, there is nothing more fulfilling than capturing emotions and turning them into original works of art that reflect the subject’s personality and can be enjoyed for a lifetime. Photography is not just a job for me; it is a gift that I can give to others, lasting a lifetime and beyond.

There is so much about a photographer’s skill set that isn’t always visible when simply looking at the image. Photography is a form of art and it requires a creative mind, but also a good skill to work with people. I have been in business for 10 Years, and I am proud to see the achievements and development I’ve made throughout these last years. Working on beautiful portraits has taught me so much, and I’m still super passionate about learning and developing new skills. I truly believe that learning is a lifelong adventure!

One of my biggest strengths is my retouching skills. You don’t need to worry about people in the background, any unwanted items or everyone looking at the same time at the camera.
I can do a great range of editing from a simple head swaps to complicated high-end retouch.
I think communicating is crucial to get the best images therefore I love to chat between shots but I always have my camera ready to capture a genuine smile.
I am engaging, warm, really friendly and emphatic. I am happy to guide the photo sessions along.
